ALTA, the rosé by Anne de Joyeuse

Limoux, an exception in Languedoc

If you Limoux vineyard is often associated with the reputation of its sparkling wines, the unique qualities of the terroir are conducive to the production of still wines of great interest. Limoux is in fact located at the confluence of oceanic and Mediterranean climates. Backed by the Pyrenean foothills, the appellation extends over four terroirs, which extend from the foothills to the vineyards of the Haute Vallée. It is on this exceptional configuration in Languedoc that the cellar Anne de Joyeuse carved out his reputation. Its originality? It only produces still wines on a land believed to be dedicated to bubbles.

ALTA, in summer rosé

Limoux is a palette of terroirs, where the high altitude vineyards offer reserves of freshness. In this unique climatic and topographical context in Pays d'Oc, the red grape varieties achieve well-balanced maturation. Malbec, Syrah, Cinsault find their respective conditions of development there, served by the coalition of oceanic and Mediterranean climates. HIGH is therefore a rosé wine made from an exclusive blend. This opportunely combines Atlantic temperance with Mediterranean vivacity. Born at the foot of the Pyrenees, raised between the Ocean and the Mediterranean, this rosé wine finds its place perfectly on summer tables. It is designed for summer flavors: a transparent, clear pink color; aromatic finesse caressed with citrus fruits; benevolent freshness which accompanies the bouquet. Crystalline in the bottle as in the glass, it reveals the grape varieties with their bare fruit. Clearly attractive for a rosé wine that cannot resist the call of beaches and summer grills.

Suggested pairings

In summer seasons: grilled fish, grilled tuna, shellfish, mixed salads, etc.

ALTA, in winter rosé

HIGH, it is above all an assumed elegance. Sincere is expressive, it pushes its coquetry to its cap of a deep mineral blue. Chromatic counterpoint which is reminiscent of the land where it was born and whose soils were sculpted by the rise of the Pyrenees. From these high altitude mineral layers, the grape varieties of Limoux vineyard bear the emphasis. Its intonations have a temperance and a freshness which HIGH is probably one of the most accurate captures. On the table in cool seasons, this rosé wine, whose color would match the sparkles of dawn on the frost, makes glowing eyes on warm evenings. It is a rosé of the sea as much as a rosé of altitude. It is one of those rare rosés that goes well with all seasons. This virtue, this magic, can only come from a singular condition: coming from a perfectly balanced terroir, which would be the synthesis of the elegance of the fruit and the seductive freshness. In Pays d'Oc, this rare convergence is precisely the characteristic of the Limoux vineyard. This terroir was only waiting for its rosé; Anne de Joyeuse did it!

Suggested pairings

In winter season: roast poultry, Savoyard fondue, raclette, risottos, Asian dishes, etc.
