A seafront vineyard
La Commandery of St Pierre la Garrigue is one of the properties of Woillemont vineyards whose best-known domain is Castle of Marmorières, heart of family life. In summary, the family that is the founder ofLa Clape appellation vinifies on two terroirs. On this stronghold where have succeeded since the XIXe century several generations of Woillemont, the vines of Commandery of St Pierre la Garrigue were only annexed very recently. Exposed to the south, spread over sixty hectares overlooking the Mediterranean, they conceal the most beautiful resources of the house. The terroir itself offers a mosaic of nuances where layers of red earth and white earth coexist in an environment of limestone cliffs. Located on the Narbonnaise Regional Nature Park in the Mediterranean, there is a well-maintained biodiversity on the site. The typically Mediterranean flora sees olive trees, almond trees, dill and other plants of the scrubland coexist.
Commandery of St Pierre la Garrigue rosé
This environment, determining aromatic profiles, announces wines with a clear and distinctive profile. The most beautiful cuvées in the appellation La Clape of Woillemont vineyards emanate from these lands and distinctions are there as was the case of the 2015 red vintage which was awarded a 91/100 by W. From this very good potential is also extracted, outside the appellation, a cuvée Commandery of St Pierre la Garrigue rosé of great interest. It is distinguished first of all by its deliberately crystalline dress with shades of peach and rose petals. The nose captures lively aromas of small red berries with intermingling evocations of strawberries and currants. On the palate, a dazzling freshness is confirmed in which the aromatic vivacity of this seafront rosé wine unfolds. The fruit structure is well balanced by accents of minerality conferred on it by this limestone terroir with characteristics inherited from its island past. This well-structured profile has allowed him to distinguish himself by a star au Hachette of Rosé Wines 2019 edition.
