A seafront vineyard

The Commanderie de St Pierre la Garrigue is one of the properties of the Woillemont vineyards , whose most famous estate is the Château de Marmorières , the heart of family life. In short, the family that founded the La Clape appellation vinifies wines on two terroirs. On this estate, where several generations of Woillemonts have succeeded one another since the 19th ^{century , the vineyards of the} Commanderie de St Pierre la Garrigue were only recently acquired. Facing south and stretching over sixty hectares overlooking the Mediterranean, they hold the estate's finest resources. The terroir itself offers a mosaic of hues where layers of red and white soils coexist in an environment of limestone cliffs. Located within the Narbonnaise en Méditerranée Regional Natural Park , the site boasts well-maintained biodiversity. The typically Mediterranean flora includes olive trees, almond trees, dill, and other garrigue plants.

This environment, which shapes aromatic profiles, promises wines with a clean and distinctive character. The finest La Clape appellation wines from the Woillemont vineyards originate from these lands, and accolades abound, as was the case with the 2015 red vintage, which received a score of 91/100 from Wine Spectator . From this exceptional potential, a Commanderie de St Pierre la Garrigue rosé , outside the appellation, is also produced, offering considerable interest. It is distinguished first and foremost by its deliberately crystalline color with hints of peach and rose petals. The nose reveals vibrant aromas of small red fruits, interwoven with notes of strawberry and redcurrant. On the palate, a dazzling freshness unfolds, showcasing the aromatic vivacity of this seaside rosé. The fruit character is well-balanced by mineral accents imparted by this limestone terroir, with its distinctive characteristics inherited from its island past. This well-structured profile allowed it to stand out with a star in the Hachette Rosé Wines 2019 edition.
