Renaissance of the historic vineyard
As throughout Languedoc, vineyards became widespread at Domaine de Verchant during the 19th century . Under the stewardship of Jules Leenhardt, a wine merchant, the estate entered a period of prosperity. Furthermore, the judicious choice of the Bülher brothers as landscape architects cemented the elegant landscape of the wine estate. The vineyard, now restored, beautifully frames the refined hotel. For at Domaine de Verchant , the vines are not merely decorative; they are cultivated according to the purest winemaking traditions. Originally comprising 16 hectares, the vineyard now covers 40 hectares following the acquisition of Château de Mazes in Saint-Aunès.
