Pelvillain vineyards: medals 2018

Vignobles Pelvillain - Cuvées Inspiration et Mise à Nu

Cahors wineWith three terroirs, the Pelvillain vineyards are now demonstrating their perfect mastery of vinification and aging of the emblematic grape variety of the Cahors appellation: Malbec.

The year 2018 has established this certainty by offering the wines of the estate a bouquet of awards. The success of the cuvée Exposure was predictable: to produce a Malbec without added sulphites foreshadowed a full expression of the fruit entirely cut for the competition distinction. The 2016 cuvée was naturally honored with a gold medal at the Frankfurt International Trophy. It was immediately nested in its success by the cuvée Port Castle 2014 also a gold medalist.

This case could only be confirmed by the care taken in the vinification and aging of the other vintages of the estate. It is now done at Macon Great Wines of France Competition. THE wines from Domaine Theron have just received three gold medals and a silver medal for the 2016 and 2017 vintages, to which is added a bronze medal for a Port Castle 2016. In the Cahors appellation, Vignobles Pellvillain now enjoys a full range of terroirs which could give the Malbec of tomorrow some great benchmark wines.

The Cahors vineyard draws its specificity
of a native grape variety from the South-West: Malbec, more commonly called Côt in the appellation.
