The Occitanie wines are produced in the three major wine-producing regions of southern France. They bring together the highest density of AOP and IGP appellations in the world AOP et IGP which are distributed between Languedoc wines, Roussillon wines et wines from the South West. In Languedoc and Roussillon more specifically, the Occitanie wines are determined by the variety of terroirs and their grape varieties well adapted to the Mediterranean climate such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre or Carignan. In the south-west, they express a character tempered by oceanic influences and develop typical characteristics often induced by local grape varieties such as Tannat in Madiran, Négrette in Fronton or Malbec in Cahors.
